Directly in front of the Collegiata Church of San Quirico D’Orcia stands “Casa Lemmi”, inhabited for over a millennium and originally Norman, once the refuge of the Knights Templar, Imperial residence, a guest house, convent, fortified house, and for at least three hundred years, the home of the owner of a nearby estate in the Val D’Orcia.
In “Casa Lemmi” the present is hidden in the up-to-date technological facilities, but its fascination is the medieval atmosphere which it retains, making this a special place for residents who want to be away from the crowd. While staying at “Casa Lemmi” guests can spend from two to five or even seven days wandering through a rich array of antiquities, culture, beauty, tastes, and natural environments unspoilt by man, all within a radius of 100 kilometers, before returning to rest in the atmosphere of “Casa Lemmi”.
There are two double rooms, a triple suite, and three other suites, all distinguished by their décor and furniture. In the nineteenth century these rooms were part of the family home. Today they are equipped with every modern comfort and convenience: telephone, minibar, safe, satellite television, internet connection, bathroom with shower or bath, hairdryer, and heating and air conditioning. The rooms are spacious and pleasant, permitting the guest to feel quite at home. An abundant breakfast, served in the garden or in the Norman room, facing the west door of the Collegiata, is included. Guests can park in the immediate vicinity of “Casa Lemmi”. The appropriate parking permit will be forwarded by email.
As of this year, Casa Lemmi can offer its guests the ‘Free Car Rental’, so that you can take full advantage of your precious holiday time whilst enjoying lower costs but greater convenience and flexibility. For just €5.00 a day our guests can use a Class ‘B’ car with air conditioning for the duration of their stay at Casa Lemmi and afterwards, should they decide to continue their holiday elsewhere in the area. The cost of this service is added to your bill and can be paid when you check out at Casa Lemmi. In order to take advantage of the ‘Free Car Rental’, you should send a letter specifying your requirements no later than 15 days before your expected arrival date. This must be done in addition to the room booking you have made with Casa Lemmi.
As you can see from the photos, our ‘rooms’ are living spaces, not just hotel rooms; each has its own distinct personality. Although we give our guests the opportunity to choose their ‘own room’, choosing the one they like best, there is no price difference between rooms.
