The farmhouses are located in the heart of Val D’Orcia from which you can enjoy the view of Vetta Amiata, Radicofani, Monticchiello, Rocca D’Orcia and above all, the Spedaletto Castle, which was built in the twelfth-century, as a welcoming place for pilgrims and travellers. The agriturismo is run by the owners of a farming company and live just a few metres from the residence. They are available to assist with any request.
In the first house, there are two apartments, the Maialino (“the little pig”) and the Cinghiale (“the wild boar”). They are so called because they were originally a stable where pigs were raised for domestic use. The two apartments can be converted into one larger apartment, thanks to a sliding door. In the second house, there are two apartments: the Gallo (“the rooster”) and the Gatto (“the cat”): these names are derived from the chimneys on the roof. On one there is an iron rooster, on the other there is a cat in terracotta, both made locally. All four apartments have been carefully renovated, using local materials for both the external and internal structures. Retaining their main characteristics, such as the wooden beams, the flooring and the furnishing reflects the country style with some contemporary effects. Naturally, they are heated, air-conditioned and have satellite TV. We have recently converted the old stables under the third farmhouse into a common room with a large chimney.
